The Sea Falcon Kouryoumaru Banana Jig was designed by Captain Yoshihiro Iwasaki, a well-known charter boat operator from Kyushu Island, Japan. After years of refinement and testing, the uniquely curved Banana Jig was perfected and is now crafted in very limited handmade runs in Japan.
This jig is engineered for high-speed jigging, originally developed to target Kingfish, but highly effective on other pelagics including tuna. Its curved banana profile produces a swooping dart action when lifted and a fluttering fall followed by a long horizontal slide, mimicking the erratic movement of a fleeing baitfish.
Unlike traditional high-pitch jigs, Captain Iwasaki recommends using a slower, long-pitch style for maximum effectiveness, allowing the jig to display its full swimming action through the water column.
